Easy Tea Variation

I recently had a friend email this idea to me and I thought I would share because it’s a super simple way to make this delicious tea.

All you need to do is get a bag lemons (or as many as you would like), squeeze the juice from all lemons into ice cube trays and place them in the freezer.

Then, peel your ginger and put it in a blender with a little water. Blend until you have a puree.

Strain the ginger puree, putting the liquid into ice cube trays and place the trays in the freezer with the lemon juice.

Then, when you’re ready for tea all you have to do is take out a cube of lemon and a cube of ginger, put them in your cup and add hot water. Then add honey, cinnamon or any other spice you like.

You’ll have delicious tea in just a few minutes!

Oh! And if you don’t want to throw away the ginger puree you can always use it to add a delicious smell and flavor to vegetables, make a ginger broth, or compost it!

Thanks for the fantastic tea tip, Debbie!

FAQs About Ginger Tea With Lemon And Honey

Have a few questions before you make this simple recipe? I’ll try to answer them here.

1. Can you use a ginger tea bag or is fresh ginger better?

You can use ginger tea found in grocery stores and it will still be tasty and offer some health benefits, but for best results, I would suggest using fresh ginger root.

2. Can you make extra and save it for later?

You can definitely double the ingredients and make a big batch to enjoy later.

The only thing I would suggest is to leave out the honey and add it to each cup when you drink it.

See, raw honey has amazing properties and compounds but these can be reduced or eliminated when heated.

3. Are there any other ingredients that could be added?

If you’re looking for a few additions to give your ginger lemon honey tea a kick you could always:

  • add a little cayenne
  • use maple syrup instead of honey (although the health benefits would change a little)
  • add a shot of whiskey

Whiskey isn’t really on my personal list of natural remedies, but many suggest a hot toddy as traditional medicine and swear by it.
